This month we welcomed a special guest – Fabrice Leveque from WWF-UK. WWF are big supporters of insulating homes to tackle climate change, and Fabrice was keen to see some of our work in action.
He joined us for a tour to discuss a few of InstaGroup’s recent home insulation projects.
Insulating homes to tackle climate change
Meeting the challenge of climate change is central to WWF’s worldwide mission. Their support of home energy efficiency solutions is key to reducing carbon emissions in the UK.
In the UK, a significant proportion of carbon emissions comes from heating our homes. Improving home insulation is a major factor in cutting that figure down.
We took our WWF guest to view three completed installations, and also to a site where work was in progress.
Warming up homes while cutting down carbon emissions
Every home we toured was different, but all of them told the same positive story: installing the new Solid Wall insulation will significantly reduce energy use while keeping the household warmer.
In addition, every home with Solid Wall insulation was much improved with a fresh and appealing new look.
Our on-site expert Colin says “We were able to demonstrate how our Solid Wall insulation can work for all homes — from a large 6-bed house in Sandhurst to a small flat in Bracknell and a bungalow in Andover. I’m pleased that Fabrice got to see how effective our energy efficiency improvements can be for homes of different sizes and kinds.”
Insulating homes is good for the environment
Lucy Shadbolt, Marketing Director at InstaGroup, added, “It’s fantastic to be involved with a world-leading environmentally conscious charity in the push to make homes more energy efficient. We look forward to opportunities to team up with WWF to help all UK homes achieve an Energy Performance C-rating.”
After his visit Fabrice tweeted, ‘Thanks to @WeAreInstaGroup for a great trip to see home energy refurbishment in action. Huge potential to smarten homes and reduce emissions.’
