InstaGroup often works with Local Authorities and councils to help warm up homes with grants and funding. We’re now very happy to be able to share the huge achievements of our working partner Hazel Hill, Sustainable Energy Officer at Bracknell Forest Borough Council.
Hazel has been recognised in the highly regarded South East Regional Energy Efficiency Awards for her work, which makes a real difference to some of the most vulnerable people within her local community.
Hazel has successfully driven community projects that help people who are living close to ‘fuel poverty’. Fuel poverty is when people can’t afford to heat their homes properly, which affects quality of life and health.
Her valuable work has secured grants and funding to cover the cost of installing insulation for vulnerable local people. This has helped to improve energy efficiency and reduce heating bills for the homes that need it most in the Bracknell Forest area.
Hazel’s ongoing efforts have helped hundreds of residents in her borough to improve their comfort and quality of life at home.
Her input on the previous Green Deal programme won the ‘Regional Large Scale Project’ award at the South East Energy Efficiency and Retrofit Awards. Hazel was also nominated by InstaGroup in the 2017 South East Regional Energy Efficiency Awards, where she became the well-deserved runner-up in the ‘Support For Vulnerable Customers’ category.
The fantastic work Hazel does every day makes a real difference to local residents in Bracknell, and we’re delighted her efforts have been recognised. We’d like to say ‘Congratulations Hazel!’
InstaGroup has worked closely with Bracknell Forest Borough Council for a number of years, installing insulation and saving energy for homes across the borough via various grants and funding schemes.
Our past projects have included over £1.5million of improvements installed under the Green Deal programme, plus our ongoing work through ECO and Bracknell’s Flexible Eligibility scheme.
Bracknell Forest Borough Council is supporting its current round of funding for insulation by running its own ‘Flexible Eligibility’ scheme, known as ‘LA Flex’.
Under the scheme, the Council can offer fully-funded Cavity Wall insulation and/or Loft insulation where the property is suitable and the residents meet one of a number of ‘flexible’ criteria. For example, if there is a child under 16 or an adult over 60 living there, if a resident has a pre-existing medical condition, or if the family income (after paying rent or mortgage, council tax and utility bills) is less than £35,000 a year.
If you live in Bracknell and think you may be eligible for LA Flex or an ECO grant, just get in touch. We’re always happy to see if we could help you apply for grants and funding to install your insulation. Our team is ready to offer friendly, expert guidance on 0800 023 2944.
Thanks to the tireless work of team members like Hazel, Bracknell Forest Borough Council currently sits joint top of the national league tables for delivering energy saving solutions under ECO grants.
InstaGroup is proud to support Hazel’s work, and very pleased to see her recognised for her dedication.
If you’d like to enjoy a cosier home, please ask us about grants and funding for insulation that may be available in your area.
