The Green Homes Grant scheme has now launched. Homeowners can apply for up to £5,000 worth of vouchers towards energy efficiency improvements such as insulation. Trust accredited suppliers for a professional installation along with great customer service.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced a total of £3bn for improving the energy efficiency of UK homes and businesses. £1bn will go towards public sector buildings, and £2bn will fund the new Green Homes Grant scheme.

Insulation, boilers, energy efficient doors and double-glazing will all feature among the home energy efficiency improvements covered by the new government scheme.

£2bn of vouchers for homeowners

More than 600,000¹ homeowners are expected to benefit from the new Green Homes Grant. The UK’s lowest income households will be eligible for vouchers worth up to £10,000 to cover energy efficiency improvements, so they won’t have to pay a thing*.

Other households can apply for vouchers worth up to £5,000 – enough to cover at least two-thirds of the cost of an approved energy-saving home improvement.

After October 2020 you’ll be able to apply online for a Green Homes Grant voucher.

Your application will need to include the recommended home improvement, plus a quote for the work from an accredited local supplier. Once the quote and the work are approved, the voucher will be issued and used towards the cost of the energy efficiency improvements.
